Abstract

Some time ago it was reported that inherited disorders for the fetal fatty oxidation could predispose to maternal complications during the pregnancy. The inherited metabolic diseases group is permanently increasing as a result of many reports of cases related to alterations in several metabolic pathways, helping the advance of research and technology developed in this field. The present work reviews the interrelation between the inherited disorders of the fatty acid mitochondrial b-oxidation for homozygous or compound heterozygote fetus and the pregnancy in heterozygote mothers for the same deficiencies.
