Cardiac disease in pregnancy continues being an important cause of both maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality due to hiding and deterioration of these conditions.
The management of the pregnant women with a cardiac disease requires knowledge of the physiological changes during pregnancy and a multidisciplinary team must carry it out.
This study presents a review of the ethiology, preconception counseling and diagnosis and does recommendations about the general management, mode of delivery and prophylaxis against the bacterial endocarditis in order to improve patient care.
