Enfoque y manejo de la embarazada diabética

Con el fin de proveer bases para un mejor entendimiento y manejo de la paciente diabética embarazada, se hace una revisión que incluye el mecanismo de secreción de la insulina, la etiopatogenia y fisiopatología de la diabetes mellitus, el metabolismo en la emba razada diabética; igualmente se hace énfasis en los distintos criterios de clasificación (clínicos o bioquímicos), recalcando el papel que juega al test de O'Sullivan como prueba tamiz en la detección de la D.Mellitus y/o intolerancia de los CHO durante la gestación.
Se analiza la respuesta fetal a la D.M. y se hace hincapié en la dieta, insulina y ejercicio como pilares del tratamiento.
