Abstract

In a 5 year period, there were 122 ectopic pregnancies operated by laparoscopy at the Clínica Los Andes in Cali, Colombia.

The laparoscopy diagnostic at that time was classified as: Istmic: 18 cases (14,8%), ampular: 88 cases (72,6%), cornual: 4 cases (3,2%), fimbric: 12 cases (9,8%).

This pathology was presented, with more frequency, in a group between 25 and 34 years old in 80 cases.

The laparoscopic surgical procedure used was: salpingotomy: 88 cases (72%), salpinguectomy: 19 cases (15,6%), cornual recession: 3 cases (2,5%), fimbric extraction: 12 cases (9,8%).

Vasopresin was used in 89% of the patients and 96,7% of them were managed in an ambulatory way, giving out a persistent ectopic pregnancy in the 2.5% of the cases.
