Estudio de cohorte sobre el impacto del diagnóstico de displasia cervical e infección por Virus del Papiloma Humano en la función sexual de mujeres en un hospital de segundo nivel en Bogotá, Colombia

Introducción y objetivo: el Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH) ha cobrado importancia gracias al advenimiento de técnicas de detección molecular que permiten su identificación antes de causar lesión en el epitelio cervical. El hecho de que esta enfermedad sea factor necesario para desarrollar cáncer de cérvix hace que ser portadora del VPH tenga además la connotación de verse expuesta al riesgo de cáncer. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar el impacto que tiene el diagnóstico de VPH, con o sin displasia, en la función sexual de las mujeres.
Materiales y métodos: estudio de cohorte en el que se evaluó la función sexual femenina mediante el Cuestionario de Cambios (CSFQ-F®, por sus siglas en inglés), se incluyeron 134 mujeres, 71 con VPH y 63 sin VPH. La encuesta se implementó al ingreso al estudio y 6 semanas después. Se realizó análisis descriptivo de variables, bivariado y multivariado para las variables de interés.
Resultados: el riesgo relativo de disfunción sexual en las mujeres con VPH y/o displasia cervical es de 4,4 (IC95% 1,617; 11,972). La disfunción se documentó desde la primera encuesta. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en la función sexual entre la primera y segunda encuesta. La t de Student pareada para cambio entre la primera y segunda encuesta no encontró diferencias significativas.
Conclusiones: la infección por VPH se identifica en la Función Sexual como factor de riesgo para disfunción sexual femenina pero se necesitan estudios complementarios para confirmar esta asociación.
