Como quiera que los influjos endocrinos previamente analizados intervienen en la preparación progravídica del endometrio con su rítmica sucesión de fase proliferativa y secretora, y del miometrio; las alteraciones anatómicas, histológicas y fisiológicas del albergue del huevo, congénitas o adquiridas, tienen que influir en la producción del aborto, ya sea por causa mecánica, o especialmente, por fenómenos funcionales, o porque actúen sobre él otros elementos ovulares o extrauterinos.
