Abstract

La mujer embarazada, presenta cambios anatomofisiológicos que predisponen a la I.U.G., en sus diferentes modalidades: cistitis, bacteriuria asintomática y pielonefritis. El manejo de las dos primeras es similar, basándose en esquemas de duración variable con penicilinas, cefalosporinas, sulfonamidas y antisépticos urinarios, asegurando la eliminación de la bacteriuria hasta el final de la gestación, con control seriado de uroanálisis.

En caso de piclonefritis, infección urinaria recurrente o anomalía anatomofuncional del tracto genito urinario se indica terapia supresora por lo que resta de la gestación.
