Tendencia de cesáreas y fórceps Hospital de Caldas, 1970-1994

Se analiza la tendencia secular de la incidencia de operación cesárea y del uso de fórceps en el Hospital de Caldas (HC), durante el período 1970-94.I¡a operación cesárea es actualmente el procedimiento quirúrgico más común en el HC. Las tasas de operación cesárea en el HC han aumentádo significativamente de 4.5% en 1970 a 25.1% en 1994 y, por el contrario, la intervención del parto con fórceps ha disminuido de 6.7% en 1970 a 1.8% en 1994, observándose correlación negativa significante entre estos dos tipos de intervención obstétrica.
