Actualización en la valoración y manejo de la infertilidad masculina

Resumen


El factor masculino contribuye al fracaso reproductivo aproximadamente en el 50% de la pareja infértil. Las diferentes herramientas que están disponibles para el diagnóstico en el hombre, incluyendo la ecografía transrectal en sospecha de obstrucción de conductos eyaculadores, el abordaje laparoscópico y la embolización percutánea han sido agregados a los accesos quirúrgicos tradicionales para la reparación del varicocele. Las tecnologías avanzadas en reproducción, en especial la inyección intracitoplasmática del espermatozoide y las técnicas para recuperar el esperma, incluyen microaspiración espermática deferencial, epididimaria y extracción espermática testicular. Todas ofrecen una buena alternativa en el tratamiento de la infertilidad masculina.
