Los defectos congénitos de la parte media de la pared abdominal anterior se han presentado desde las épocas más remotas con severas implicaciones sobre el funcionamiento de los órganos afectados y graves consecuencias de morbilidad y mortalidad en los niños que nacieron con dichas anomalías.
