Infección por Chlamydia Trachomatis en pacientes con Neoplasia Intracervical

Resumen

Con el propósito de conocer la prevalencia de la infección endocervical por Chlamydia trachomatis en un grupo considerado de alto riesgo, estudiamos 118 pacientes con atipias severas o algún grado de neoplasia intraepitelial cervical (NIC). Empleando la técnica del cultivo en células McCoy pudimos determinar la infección cervical en 56 de ellas (47%). De los datos paraclínicos el hallazgo de atipias severas en una citología rutinaria, aún con el cervix aparente ente normal, fue el que más correlacionó con la presencia de infección por C. trachomatis. Una muestra adicional de uretra sirvió para mejorar la positividad diagnóstica en un 18%. Se analizaron comparativamente los tres métodos para demostrar antígeno con los que cuenta el laboratorio: aislamiento, inmunofluorescencia directa y el ensayo inmunoenzimático encontrándose una eficiencia del 70 % y 65% de los dos últimos exámenes comparados con el aislamiento.
