Histerectomía total por laparoscopia en 202 pacientes

Del 7 de diciembre de 1999 al 30 de abril de 2003 realizamos histerectomía total por laparoscopia (tipo IV - E) en 202 pacientes. La edad promedio fue de 46 años, el tiempo quirúrgico promedio de 100 minutos y el peso uterino promedio de 170 gramos. Los tres principales diagnósticos prequirúrgicos fueron miomatosis uterina (51%), lesión escamosa intraepitelial de alto grado (21%) y dolor pélvico crónico (9%). El principal diagnóstico patológico fue miomatosis y/o adenomiosis uterina en el 79,2% de los casos (160 pacientes). Se presentaron complicaciones en 16 pacientes (7,9%); de estas, cinco (2,5%) fueron infecciosas, cuatro (2%) hemorrágicas, tres (1,5%) vesicales y otras complicaciones en cuatro pacientes (2%). No se evidenciaron complicaciones ureterales, vasculares ni intestinales. Se propone la histerectomía total por laparoscopia como primera opción quirúrgica en unidades con suficiente experiencia en cirugía laparoscópica.Biografía del autor/a
