La hemorragia post-partum

La hemorragia uterina post-partum es una de las mayores complicaciones en obstetricia y la principal causa de muerte materna. Sus causas han sido cuidadosamente estudiadas en los últimos años, y la más común es la atonía uterina, es decir, la deficiente contracción del útero inmediatamente después del parto la cual puede ser el resultado de una retención placentaria, un fibroma intramural, sobredistensión uterina, anestesia profunda, estados de debilidad general y shock.
