Relación lecitina esfingomielina como índice de una madurez pulmonar fetal

Se estudiaron 70 pacientes embarazadas del Servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Militar, practicándoles amniocentesis, para la obtención de líuido amniótico y determinación de la relación lecitina Esfingomielina (L/S) como índice de madurez pulmonar fetal. Se tuvieron en cuenta los siguientes parámetros: Motivo del exámen-Distribución según edad gestacional conocida Pre-eclámpticas con semanas de gestación conocidas-Tiempo trascurrido hasta el nacimiento-Altura uterina en el momento de la amniocentesis-Peso Fetal al nacimiento- Evolución fetal posterior-Administración de Corticoides- Forma de parto-Otros exámenes para probar madurez. Se encontró mayor porcentaje de casos con relación L/S baja (por debajo de 2.0 y 2.5) en pacientes con embarazos de 35 semanas o menos.
No se evidenció aumento notable en la relación L/S en pacientes pre-eclámticas con respecto al total de pacientes estudiadas.
Se comprobó la eficacia de los corticoides administrados a la madre para aumentar en forma temprana la relación L/S. Se estableció que al encontrar la relación L/S en 2.5 o mayor, se puede concluír la existencia de madurez pulmonar fetal adecuada.
