Gonococo y enfermedad pélvica inflamatoria

Resumen

La mayoría de las manifestaciones clínicas de la Gonorrea en hombres, fueron reconocidas en la literatura antigua china, japonesa, egipcia, romana, griega y en el Antiguo Testamento (42). Galeano (130 A.D.) le dio a esta enfermedad el nombre de Gonorrea, que en griego significa "Flujo de Semilla", en la creencia que el exudado uretral fuera semen. Más tarde se observó que la descarga uretral masculina se asociaba con morbilidad en mujeres.
